In the current era of Industry 4.0, statistics has become one of the most crucial fields of study, particularly due to technological advancements and increasing complexity in data analysis. Amid rapid global changes, Banten Province—especially Cilegon City, which is known as an industrial hub—has a high demand for a workforce capable of processing and analyzing data effectively. Recognizing this need, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (Untirta) established the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Statistics (Statistics Study Program) as a long-term prospect. The strategic location of the Statistics Study Program at Untirta in Banten Province, specifically in Cilegon City, provides optimal access to the industrial environment. Banten Province, with its unique characteristics, serves as a major driving force for the development of this study program. The demand for high-quality professional statisticians across various fields continues to increase in line with ongoing digital transformation.
The Statistics Study Program operates under the Faculty of Engineering (FT) of Untirta. The establishment of the Statistics Study Program at Untirta is based on the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia No. 301/E/O/2023 dated March 20, 2023. Currently, the Statistics Study Program at Untirta has obtained accreditation from the Accreditation Agency for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA). The program is also registered as a member of the Indonesian Forum for Higher Education in Statistics (FORSTAT).
